Spring Cleaning: Tips for Getting Into Those Overlooked Stor

It's springtime, so it's time to break out the cleaning supplies and get to work! Some places get overlooked, including light dusting or a full-on deep clean. Here are some tips for getting into those hard-to-reach places and giving them the attention they deserve.

1. Cobwebs in the corners: No one likes dealing with cobwebs, but they can be a real pain to get rid of if you need the right tool. A good dusting brush with long, stiff bristles will help you knock down cobwebs quickly and easily. Just be careful not to let the brush scratch your walls or ceiling!

2. Fingerprints on light switch plates and doorknobs are big offenders when making a space look dirty. Use a damp rag or sponge to wipe them down; if they're particularly stubborn, you can use a mild all-purpose cleaner. Be sure to rinse any cleaner entirely, so it doesn't attract dirt later on.

3. Dust accumulation on ceiling fans: Ceiling fans are great for circulating air but can also be a magnet for dust. To clean them, put a pillowcase over each blade and secure it with a rubber band. With the pillowcase in place, run your hand along each edge to trap the dust inside. Once you're done, remove the pillowcase and dispose of the dust!

4. Oven grime: Ovens can be tough to clean because of all the nooks and crannies, not to mention the danger of using harsh chemicals around food. Mix equal parts baking soda and water to produce a natural oven-cleaner paste. Spread it onto the grime, let it sit for a few minutes, then wipe it away with a damp cloth. If you need something more substantial, vinegar also works well (be sure to open up some windows—the smell can be pretty potent).
